2. Match Rules & Qualifying Format
2.1 45 arrows will be shot (3 arrows over 15 ends) from 20 yards (except for the Cub class, which will shoot from 10 yards) at a 40cm target face w/ X’s scored as 11’s; Possible 495 score
2.2 Each competitor may choose which qualifying time they would like to shoot from the list provided
2.3 Compound archers will use a vertical 40cm 3-Spot target face. Recurve archers may use either a 40cm Single Spot or vertical 40cm 3-Spot face
2.4 Rounds will have 2 ends of official practice before scoring begins
2.5 All ends will be timed 2 minutes for 3 shots
2.6 Shots triggered after the buzzer will not score; arrows traveling past shot arrow line cannot be re-shot
2.7 Double scoring on paper scorecard, arrow line calls are made by the majority of the group
2.7a Scorecard must be totaled and signed before being turned in as the final scorecard.
2.7b Do not touch any arrow or target face until the scores have been called & recorded accurately
2.7c Archer can request a Judge if he/she disagrees with group call; ruling is final
2.7d Ties are decided based on score, number of 11’s, number of 10’s, 1st arrow out of highest scoring ring (longest clean wins)
2.7e 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th arrows out of the 11 ring will be used to break ties
2.8 Archers are required to replace target face at judge’s discretion; face may be repaired but not altered
2.9 Witnessed bounce outs will be re-shot
2.10 Archer may miss up to 2 ends during qualification for equipment failure; arrows will be made up at the end. Practice on practice range or open targets before resuming with the group on your target
3. Champoionship Class Shootoff
3.1a The top 8 archers in the Championship Class will move on to the Championship Shootoff to be held on Sunday, January 19
3.1b Ranking ties are decided based on total 11s, then by the archer who shot clean longer during qualification
3.1c #8 vs #7, Winner vs #6, Winner vs #5, Winner vs #4, Winner vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1
3.2 All Shootoff matches consist of 3 ends of 3 arrows
3.3 All Shootoff arrows are timed – 30 seconds for each shot
3.4 Archers will remain on the shooting line during their entire Shootoff match
3.5 Oklahoma Classic volunteers or archer’s advocate will pull arrows after each end and return them
3.6 Practice available for on-deck archer until called into Shootoff area for his/her match
3.7 Possible score of 99; scored by the Judge, Judge’s call is official
3.8 All tie scores broken by 1 Arrow Shoot-Off (2 shots by score, then 3rd shot closest to X)
3.9 Shots triggered after buzzer will not score; arrows traveling beyond shot arrow line cannot be re-shot
3.10 Witnessed bounce outs will be re-shot
3.11 No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Shoot-Off match
4. All Other Class Shootoffs
4.1a The top 4 archers in each non-Championship Class will move on to the Final Shootoff to be held on Sunday, January 13
4.1b Ranking ties are decided based on total 11s, then by the archer who shot clean longer during qualification
4.1c #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1
4.2 All Shootoff matches consist of 3 ends of 3 arrows
4.3 All Shootoff arrows are timed – 30 seconds for each shot
4.4 Archers will remain on the shooting line during their entire Shootoff match
4.5 Oklahoma Classic volunteers or archer’s advocate will pull arrows after each end and return them
4.6 Practice available for on-deck archer until called into Shootoff area for his/her match
4.7 Possible score of 33; scored by the Judge, Judge’s call is official
4.8 All tie scores broken by 1 Arrow Shoot-Off (2 shots by score, then 3rd shot closest to X)
4.9 Shots triggered after buzzer will not score; arrows traveling beyond shot arrow line cannot be re-shot
4.10 Witnessed bounce outs will be re-shot
4.11 No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Shoot-Off match
5. Awards and Payback
5.1 1st place in all non-Championship divisions will receive a gift card at the awards ceremony which will take place at the conclusion of the Championship Shoot-Off on Sunday
5.2 The Championship division winners will be paid in accordance with the schedule outlined in 5.2a
5.2a $35 will be contributed to the Championship division pot for every archer registered in that division. If there are 3-9 archers in the Championship division, 1st place will receive 70% of the pot, 2nd place will receive 20%, and 3rd place will receive 10%. If there are 10-20 archers in the Championship division, 1st place will receive 60% of the pot, 2nd 18%, 3rd 9%, 4th 8%, and 5th 5%. If there are 21-30 archers in the Championship division, 1st place will receive 56% of the pot, 2nd 17%, 3rd 8%, 4th 7%, 5th 5%, 6th 4%, and 7th 3%
6. General Rules and Regulations
6.1 At this time, the Oklahoma Classic offers no classes of divisions for crossbows
6.2 No archer may be registered more than one time
6.3 Maximum arrow shaft diameter allowed will be 0.422 inches, with a point diameter not to exceed 0.425 inches. The shaft diameter will include any wrap placed on the arrow and will include the size of the nock and the nock insert
Shooting Classes
Championship Division – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines. The Championship division is open to men and women of all ages.
Women’s Open – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines.
Senior Men’s Open – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines. The Senior Men’s division is open to men ages 50 and older.
Recurve – Follows the NFAA Freestyle Limited Recurve rules and guidelines. The Recurve class is open to men and women of all ages.
Cub (11 and under) – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines. In accordance with NFAA guidelines, the cub class will shoot from 10 yards.
Youth (12-14) – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines.
Young Adult (15-17) – Follows the NFAA Freestyle rules and guidelines.
Kids Recurve (Male or Female age 17 or under) – Follows the NFAA Freestyle Limited Recurve rules and guidelines.
